A mouse ate a hole in my Revelate pocket - repairable?

Post by mcmoonter »

I thought I'd stored my gear safely on a hook in the shed. A mouse managed to get up and scoff an Orlieb pannier (beyond repair) and a corner out of my Revelate pocket. I've crudely taped up the hole with spinnaker tape to don't think it will be a durable waterproof repair. Is it possible to repair it economically or should I just buy a replacement.

I've repaired bags with clear Gorilla tape and inner tube held in place with contact adhesive. Both seem to be holding up quite well, although I'd advise rounding the corners of the patches before applying.

as i said on STW (but cross posting incase anyone here needs the info..)

https://www.scottishmountaingear.com/repair-service

used them on a tent in the past for a "quality" repair....

prior to that id just done as norm and duct(at the time there was no gorilla) taped over the holes on both sides.

on a similar subject.

Thread and needles for repairing tents ? i need to seat a pole retainer for my inner fly back to its retainer after some spirited tent errecting in the rain last week...... Thankfully wild country make good gear and the inner fly is double layered and its only pulled out of the outside so the tent was still waterproof (unlike my mates vango omega which leaks like a sieve despite not being old) Will be stitcing webbing to a double layer of nylon ground sheet.

Take it to a sail-maker.
They should be able to repair it with similar material.
Zazen - nothing happens next this is it.
