Fully rigid 29er here (On-one 'Lurcher').
It'll feel like a CX bike after doing it last year on a fatbike!!!

Hoping to have my rebuilt DMO built by then otherwise it'll be my Giant mtb.
Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
I'll be on hardtail mtb -- my only option.
Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
Rooster. It's that or the road bike !
Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
My Dirty Harry. Sounds filthy, but it is a bike. 29er hardtail, with good pedigree (couple of HTRs and quite a few ITTs)
Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
My green godess that is the cross check here if I can pack enough gear on her that is ;0)

I still can't quite let go of the idea of riding my Rooster on the TT.rufus748 wrote:Rooster. It's that or the road bike !
It's just too much bloody fun and did me proud (other than the drivetrain) on last years BB200.
There'll be at least one other Rooster taking part too.
Decisions, decisions, we'll just have to wait and see.....
Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
Glad to hear that. I was a bit concerned given the wheel/tyre weight and all the climbing. That said, it's great to ride, I just need to get some miles in before hand.gairym wrote:I still can't quite let go of the idea of riding my Rooster on the TTrufus748 wrote:Rooster. I want to enjoy it, not struggle.
Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
With the way things are going for me atm it's looking like i'll be on a rigid Soul 69er

Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
I've put the 2015 & new route on Google earth & there looks to be a fair difference to me, especially the first half of the route up to Siena. Just hope i've got the right routes??

No, it is different at a closer look and someone sneaked in some more climbing

Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
I'm not worrying about it too much - I'm just worrying about getting enough miles done before then . . . Oh and how I'm going to deal with warm weather as I've not experienced it for so long

Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
For the hot weather I've been thinking about early starts, then a long lunch in the heat of the day, and then riding late as things cool down.
It's either that or more wine

Re: Tuscany Trail 2016
Hi everyone, I'm signed up to the Tuscany Trail and I was hoping for some advice on GPS......
Do you know if we are required to keep a gps track of the route that we have completed to validate it at the end?
Would anyone have any suggestions on a suitable gps? I'm pretty directionally challenged so something with clear navigation instructions would be a great benefit! I was looking at the Garmin touring plus. Not so concerned on battery life as it would be run from a dynamo hub - any thoughts??
Alternatively is anyone using gps on iPhone for navigation or is this a very niave question???
Thanks - any advice greatly appreciated!
