On One Bignose saddles comfy?

Post by Ray Young »

Thinking of buying an on one bignose saddle for distance work as my current saddle is not the best. £20 at the moment, any comments? Cost is a priority  .

I had one and thought it was okay ... until I ended up sat on it for 6+ hours, after which time I'd have been very happy to sling it over the nearest hedge. I think FOR ME there's too much padding which is quite soft ... Charge Spoon solved the problems, much to the relief of my 'sack weld'

In our house we have 5 Charge Spoons, three are the older versions with the dimples, two have the newer smooth finishes.
Both of the new versions are rippling near the nose and one has worn through the "leather" in three ride's so It's going back to the distributers on monday for a warranty claim.
The older ones look a bit grubby nowadays but are free from defects after 3 years.
Try get an older variant if you can.

Flatfishy, when you say dimples do you mean holes?

I had a Spoon the other year, destroyed Lycra shorts, went to Selle Italia from on-one sale no trouble.

Hi folks, charge spoon saddle arrived today and dimpled it is, :) ,just hope it doesn't destroy lycra, :( . 3 hour ride and seems ok so far but only a full day in the saddle will tell me if it's comfy. Thanks for the advice everyone.
