Just came across this. It may be a useful resource for forum users. I would guess a few here are already signed up or have used it.

Thanks.

I'm a warmshowers host, we see a handful of bike tourists every year. I've stayed with a couple of hosts in the U.S. and they were outstanding.

I used it quite a lot last year in Europe. It was great.

It's a fantastic resource ... but the name. Perhaps it's my mind but 'warmshowers' never sounded like something you'd want in your browser history.

My friend met his girl friend via warmshowers, so obviously had its benefits

Like Stu I struggle with the name. After hearing how your friend met his other half now it makes with think of a "specialist" dating agency

Perhaps my mind should have a shower

Agreed about the name... but definitely a great resource. We stayed with several hosts in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Colombia. You have to be careful about 'kindnapping' though. Often we were only planning to stay for a few days and we stayed for like 10 days! This was especially true in Colombia. They are so friendly and accommodating.

We are hosts in England as well, but we don't get too many requests in our location.

We host on warmshowers and I'm inundated with requests during the summer months. I tend to go incognito to get a break. Though if anyone here ever needs a hot dinner and a dry room for the night, drop me a PM even if I'm unavailable on the site. Although I've tried several times to be a guest, I've had no success. The name makes me cringe.

I am a host. If cyclists get as far as Shetland chances are that they are fairly hardcore. If you are willing to sleep in my hovel you are practically SAS material! I have had 3 requests and 1 that turned up. She was great, cycling around the UK with no money, Anna, a Ukranian collecting money for a Ukranian charity.
