MYOG trailstar copy...

Post by Moder-dye »

I should be out as it's a gorgeous icy day up here with no wind, but I got distracted last night an made a start on a MYOG trailstar with cutting out patterns and then couldn't sleep this morning so spent 5 hours putting it all together. I had intended to buy one but the lead time, shipping and import tax lottery kept putting me off.

It's surely not a patch on the real thing made with PU coated ripstop, but still only 725g with guys. I also only used semi flat felled seams as the full flat felled seams seemed a bit beyond me and reading around the ones I used should do fine. I've not sealed the seams yet.

Here's a blog post of it http://moder-dye.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01 ... gear.html

It's a clear icy forecast tonight (down to -6c with no wind) so I might get in my January bivy near by. After crashing my car in the snow the other day I'm not wanting to risk a tumble on the bike so I'll walk local!

Does yer mum know you've been using her sewing machine?

Very tidy, did you use TS dimensions? I ask as it looks smaller kinda like a scaled down version.

Haha! Its my sewing machine :???:

Yeh it will be a bit smaller than the real TS due to fabric size. The triangle heights are only just under 1.50cm and just under 2m along the base of each triangle when sewn. Still plenty of space for 2 though. The height it as at is the max height for it can go at with the sides to the floor at 38" which is fine by me as I want it to be low.

Cheers
