Has anyone ever suffered with what what appear to be a faulty self sealing valve on a gas canister?
At weekend I was having to unscrew the refit the canister to my stove every time I used it. Sometimes even after that there was quite a delay in gas starting to come through to the stove ... flame control was also a little hit and miss with quite a bit of 'flaring'.

Re: Duff gas canister?
Coleman cannisters often don't sit correctly, green and grey cannisters. The threaded part of the gas cannister isn't 'tall' enough to seat correctly. This would give you the described symptons, the other thing to check is the regulator on the stove, I've seen those cause flareups, and poor running.

Re: Duff gas canister?
Problem solved ... the rubber sealing washer on the fuel regulator is slightly too thick. This results in the pin that pierces the valve on the canister sometimes not doing and only allowing a small amount of gas through to the burner, when it does.
Now removed the washer to the bin ... problem solved
