Is there much in the way of a reserve list so far?

Damn, I missed this somehow. Could I be added to reserve as well?

Thanks Stu!

Stuart, can you give us an idea of which explorer and landranger maps we will need this year?

I probably have them already but it's an easy thing to stick on a xmas list if not!

Landranger 136, 125 ... although most folk will probably be fine without the 125.

Explorer 215, 239, OL23 ... most folk can probably do without OL23.

Great, thanks a lot. I'll check the library (big pile) to see if I have these already

I'm guessing when you say 'most folks', you mean sensible ones who aren't planning on doing monster mileage!

Pretty much ... some folk will always try and reach every GR no matter how many there are

It's just that sort of spirit that every year Stuart tries to break with death march, gale force winds, rain, bog, fords, sheep and tussocks

Lost my job on Tuesday because of Head Office cost cuttings, I was "last in so first out" because I was there for less than 2 years, I had no leg to stand on as I'm easier to get rid of then those that they would need to pay redundancies to.

I've kept the company car until my last day which is Friday 8th Jan, so not sure on how I can get to the event as yet and if I do land a new job starting on the 11th I could be snookered as well.
I'll know nearer the time

Ah what a bummer. Everything is up in the air here as well and everyone thinks they're on borrowed time. Not nice. Good luck finding something else. :-bd

Where are you based John? I'm sure that one of us can provide a lift should you require it. I'll be heading down from the Skipton area.

Anyone heading past junction 26 off the M6 southbound fancies a slight 10 minute detour I'd be more than happy to put a few quid in their petrol tank and a beer or two.

Hi Stu.

Any chance of you sending out grid refs a day early on the 23rd? Just this will allow me to print maps off on the 24th at work....

Many thanks for the offer of lifts for this event but I'm afraid I'm going to have to bail....... Sorry

Why?
As mentioned above I lost my job  but have found another one :-bd
The problem is that my old one ends on Friday 8th Jan and my new one starts on Monday 11th Jan.
No problem you say, well I on Monday 11th of Jan I need to head down to Kent for a week of training, so I don't think it will be wise to ask the wife for the weekend away then head away with work for the following 5 days (unless I don't want to keep my knackers attached)

So, please can I ask Sir Stu :YMDAYDREAM: for the following?
1) Even though I've bailed and WON'T be riding the Winter Event this year, please can you send me the instructions on Christmas Eve as well, as the Mother in Law will be around I need some sort of an escape even if it's into the land of maps on the living room floor.
2) Please give my entry to the next person on the reserve list
3) If possible can you carry my entry over to the WRT? :-bd

24 days off on full pay now until my new job starts, so it's brain off, relax and ride bikes

That's fine but just remind me when entries open at the start of Feb.

Congratulations on the new job
