Re: Bothies on the BBC
Last night my wife says " Let's watch that bothy programme on iPlayer" then spends five minutes searching for it with no success. A quick check of the schedule and ... it's tomorrow(well yesterday's tomorrow) night

Re: Bothies on the BBC
You should be able to get the programme on iplayer later. It was on BBC 2 at 9pm
Re: Bothies on the BBC
For future reference... you need to click change location which is near the bottom left on the iplayer's homescreen. IIRC the schedule still shows as if you're in That London, but if you watch live you'll get whatever's on up here (or you can wait until it appears in the play again listings).Mike wrote:stupid question but can we get bbc scotland on iplayer? Enjoyed that too. Some good filming, an array of 'bothy' characters in some stunning locations and some history thrown in for good measure too. With that and the Alastair Humphreys bothy film they have definitely got me thinking of a fat bike adventure for next year.....
The only 'downside' is more people know about them, hmm, me included

However, knowing about a bothy and having the motivation to travel at least half a mile from a road or the car to said bothy are two very different things...summittoppler wrote:Enjoyed that too. Enjoyed it on iplayer. Great stories of the couple who started the MBA and the guy who lived in one.

I liked the tale about the two surfers hiking between beaches and carrying their boards across the moor.tenbears10 wrote:Enjoyed it on iplayer. Great stories of the couple who started the MBA and the guy who lived in one.

Re: Bothies on the BBC
I enjoyed that - the skiing bit seemed a bit out of context but the 'Scottish skiers are optimists and opportunists' quote is spot on!
Next Summer I will mainly be heading out to remote bothies on my FB (Especially the far north west ones)

Never stayed in a Scottish bothy, the only one I've been in is the "secret" one, which we stumbled across last year......goodness only knows how ;-)

Watched with the fire place roaring, beer in one hand, dog and daughter snoring and the wifey was out, bliss! Some right characters in that programme
