as per the subject really. Anyone use this setup? The price drop has made them a tempting stocking filler (for me) and I have and existing mytimug.
cheers

Re: 8g Meths Stove work well with MytiMug 650ml?
It will ... but it needs some consideration. Wide pot + small stove means it's not very stable, this can be overcome with the addition of a 'special' windshield* that supports the pot. Also, the stove capacity is too small to boil a full 650ml, so you'll either need to boil less or conduct some in flight re-fuelling

I've never dared add more fuel to a lit stove, but imagine that you have, Stu? Just to see, likeconduct some in flight re-fuelling![]()

So what happens? Molatov Cocktail, singed eyebrows and no hair left on your arms, or just a topped up stove that burns longer?

Thanks for the informative response! Stability was a concern, but I hadn't considered fuel capacity. I will think some more on it.

If you already have the pot then one of the 22g ones will work well.tea-face wrote:Thanks for the informative response! Stability was a concern, but I hadn't considered fuel capacity. I will think some more on it.

I watched Jean Fankhauser on TD 2014 try this...he went to squirt some extra fuel into his Redbull can stove, but instead it leapt from the container, through the flame, ignited and then proceeded to chew a hole in his tent on impact. Silnylon burns *very* fast. 2' hole in the space of 0.005 seconds.Ian wrote:I've never dared add more fuel to a lit stove...So what happens?

I've done this on a meths powered trangia. It was surprisingly undramatic and nothing to write home about.Ian wrote:I've never dared add more fuel to a lit stove, but imagine that you have, Stu? Just to see, likeconduct some in flight re-fuelling![]()
