Between the 12th and 15th, the world and national rally is on in mid to North Wales, check out the website for more details. Don't want anyones plans being spoilt on the day

I'm staying at Corris this weekend with some friends and doing some casual MTBing. I'm secretly hoping we bump into some WRC action.
Re: PSA: WRC coming to a town near you
We had to break the rules to do our route these last two days... though in fairness the forest wasn't "technically" closed on the two times we ventured in, even though the tape / signs were up.
Section at Sweetlamb looked pretty cool.

Actually, we technically broke the curfew by about 15 minutes, but I'm very pleased we did as I didn't fancy a detour!Richard G wrote:We had to break the rules to do our route these last two days... though in fairness the forest wasn't "technically" closed on the two times we ventured in, even though the tape / signs were up.

Is it wrong to admit that I was mildly disappointed not to see one?Richard G wrote:Shh!benp1 wrote:Actually, we technically broke the curfew by about 15 minutes

No, WRC cars are fricking vaguely exciting - glowing exhausts with anti-lag, sideways gravel monsters - what's not to love?benp1 wrote: Is it wrong to admit that I was mildly disappointed not to see one?

But I mean coming towards us (or maybe behind us), we were riding down the actual rally route. I figured we were safe as it was almost the end of the day and you'd hear them from miles away.
Thinking about it there wasn't a huge amount of room for error, a slight mistake and there's a fair way to fall!

Watched the cars go out this morning, love hearing the engine noises in the distance and seeing several spot lights heading for you, only to catch the smallest of glimpses of the cars

Saw them on the public road from the bunkhouse and even mixed it up on the road (from the car). Nice to see proper vehicles on the road!
