BB200. I've made a kit decision...
I've decided 100% which sock I'm using.
Everything else is up in the air at the moment. ;-)
Don't even talk to me about tyres.....

Just the one sock?

Better weight than wisdom, a traveller cannot carry
Re: BB200. I've made a kit decision...
Sometimes life is much easier, I have 1 bike (mountain that is, I have loads of others) and 1 set of tyres so no questions there, once I get onto shoes though ......

2 socks would make the route far too easy...whitestone wrote:Just the one sock?

Re: BB200. I've made a kit decision...
I suppose there's bliss in having one bike, well I have 1 mtb 1 road, so its an easy choice, though It gets complicated when temperature is involved when deciding bags/shelter. As for weather, expect the worst, and double it if you're in wales
Though careful how far you take the 'less choice means right choice' theory,
Or you'll end up joining the single speed guys.... I mean "never in the wrong gear"?? Or is it never in the right gear?....

I'd probably consider shorts of some type on those legs...otherwise the sheep ravaging mentioned elsewhere in these parts may actually occur. Not to mention some interesting encounters with the fuzz.

I'm thinking of buying a carbon fibre brompton and some new trail running shoes. Ride on the road and easy tracks, or pack the bike into my rucksack and run/walk, easy peasy!

Re: BB200. I've made a kit decision...
Got my kit sorted this morning after setting up Dynamo and tubeless tyres last night.
One Wildcat Ocelot partial frame bag and a small Wildcat Tiger with 5 litre dry bag. Two bottles on the frame and nothing on my back. (No front harness either for better aerodynamics

I'm sure you could make a front harness that did improve aerodynamics ;-)Ian wrote:(No front harness either for better aerodynamics)

Re: BB200. I've made a kit decision...
I've decided I can save a lot of weight by not bringing myself. So much easier.
Stu, you can give my space to someone if you want.

Re: BB200. I've made a kit decision...
I am glad i read this, I had completely forgotten a bottle cage
Re: BB200. I've made a kit decision...
I've actually been carrying around my bikepacking kit with weight in the bags for all of my recent rides. If I've done it right, the kit I'm actually taking will weigh significantly less than what I've been lugging around for training.
...though I am planning on carrying a HELL OF A LOT of food.

Re: BB200. I've made a kit decision...
Rebuilt the forks last night, and tonight it's brake hose replacement and bleed. Then I'll think about packing - the basics and some food might be enough. Look for a bloke panicking at 10am on Saturday as he's forgotten something really important!
