Yes, very well done ... for even considering it

May the bridges you burn light your way
Re: 3 peaks. Well done
Thanks. race report to follow in due course...
It is a fantastic race though. Thanks to Greg May and Rich Pips for some pointers beforehand. They were all useful
I bumped into another Bear Bones member, Rob Andrews on the line. Good ride from Rob, narrowly missing out on a sub 4 hr time by a matter of seconds

I was marshalling in a couple of places and thought it was you at the bottom of PYG lane.
You were past before I could shout though!
I'm lucky I'm that I've a guaranteed entry for next year now...

Glad you had a good ride Ian.
I think I may have another go next year and see if I can make the top 10 in my new category.

Since you taught me how to carry the bike properly, it's fineGregMay wrote:Hows your shoulder :)

I nearly posted this in the e-bike thread, but it probably more appropriate to do it here; the oldest guy to enter and complete this years 3 Peaks Cyclocross was 80 years old. He wasn't last either, finishing in 5:52. Bravo

It was nice to meet you at the start Ian, glad you enjoyed it!
I was a bit gutted to just miss out on the sub 4hr but had a big crash at the bottom of Ingleborough and totalled my front wheel, luckily I was only a few hundred meters past my supporter Jen with spare wheels
3 peaks unfinished business strkes again!

Enjoyed reading that Ian. Bad luck with the flats mind.
Good effort Rob, close to 4 hrrs is handy.

3 time peak winner Barry Davies organises the North Wales cx series and is well worth entering for anybody living in gogledd Cymru. Amlch and Prestayn are great courses.
I rode the 49th edition of the event, never again but I did manage to get my mug shot on the front cover of the 50th edition sporting a helmet peak and cross bike with discs. Also the year I rode my mate was given a time penalty for an illegal bike change at the bottom of Pen y Gent when all the wheelbase riders were changing bikes before and after every hill and road section out of the back of a team van following them around the course....

Ha, funny you mention singlespeed. I passed a few riders spinning like maniacs down the road and thought "what a ridiculous idea"
Oh, hang on...

I actually think I had an advantage on singlespeed as it was easier to carry, almost as fast when drafting and negligible difference on the climbs as everyone was so knackered anyway.
