I used to wrap my pump in an inner tube many years ago, keeps it nice and clean

The Lezyne one comes with rubber covers to stop crap getting in, and I make sure the handle is at the top so it doesn't fill with water.

A Spesh pump on the fat bike gets a wrap of insulation tape over places where grit might get in.

Nah, mine was always fine (mountain morph)

Went tubeless so now can carry a smaller pump in a framebag

My Lezyne micro floor drive HV (and breathe) has an adaptor that screws into the foot plate. Which is OK unless you suffer terminal air loss and need over 300 strokes to get your fatty reinflated and you manage to tread mud into the threads. *

I really don't think they're the best rims for it Nigel. Are you running Floaters? ... they seem to fall off once you drop the pressure.

That's exactly the problem. The rims have a stupid shelf that the beads need to hop up and the tyres are so slack. It came with vee V8s. The front one had popped off in transit!

Glue these on or you will lose them. The replacements are about half the price of a pump.

On my commuter, it's wrapped in a sandwich bag + insulating tape to keep the crap off.

My Blackburn something or other only gave up this week due to water ingress... Had lasted 3 years though!

Mine generally goes on the grams without too much thought. I do always put it valve side down though, it hasn't suffered for it yet.....

A little Blackburn one, light and compact, perfect, until you need to inflate something!

I did and I did! It got filled up with gritty water and didn't work anymore.

The replacement lives in a frame bag now

I had a Crankbrothers pump die from water ingress into the valve recep's and grit chewed up the aluminium shaft.
Switched to the Serfas Big Stick (built in rubber grommit to keep the crap out) and it's been good for over a year now.
