Hi....

Post by feepole »

Just saying hello.

I'm a hill walker and backpacker who's gradually finding the bike is more than just a means of getting into the hills. Over the years I've gradually been won over by benefits of lightweight(ish) walking and camping. Realised I need to take this a step further if I'm to combine the bike and feet more meaningfully.

My bike is just an old rockhopper, with one or two upgrades. Tempted to move up a rung or two, but to be honest there's a limit to how much bike I want to occasionally leave hidden in a peat bog for several days at a time (on second thoughts, maybe that's where I'll find my free upgrade! ). Think I'll work on technique first, then look at spending some proper cash.

Here to learn, and already read some really interesting threads.

Oh, and I live in Orkney, so tend to just manage a couple multi day trips away each year. At these times I can mostly be found roaming Sutherland. There's nowhere quite like it!

Cheers benp1

It's fabulous here (especially on a night with such an incredible sunset as we've just been watching tonight!), though it's mainly a bit on the agricultural side for the 'wilderness' experience :???:
