Garmin Etrex updates 20x & 30x

Post by Dan_K »

I've seen that Garmin have updated these Etrex models (better screen and internal memory).
Am thinking of getting the 20x to replace my old Etrex Legend.

Anyone got one of the new ones?

Reading as far as I can between the lines of the press releases, all I can see is the ability to take sdxc now (as opposed to just up to sdhc), and more inbuilt storage (3.7GB vs 1.7GB) (no mention of actual memory..although they do seem to confuse the terms) and now a 240x320 pixel screen rather than 176x220.

I can't tell if the processor has been upgraded - but I've never been able to work out what the processor in these was anyway....

I don't think it's enough for me to warrant upgrading my relatively recently purchased etrex 30 for, but seems like a better package than the current on.

Nice to see them moving with the times.

Somewhat miffed as it can't be much more than a month since I splashed out on an Etrex 30.

Bit like buying something then seeing it in a sale a week later but if you always waited for a better deal you would end up never buying anything. C'est la vie.
