What free editing software do people use for the likes of go pro etc? Got a camera coming this week, so keen to get started

If you want quick and easy: http://shop.gopro.com/EMEA/softwareanda ... tudio.html

The ones I plan on trying* that are freemium/open source.

Openshot: http://www.openshotvideo.com/

Lightworks: http://www.lwks.com/

*i.e. I haven't done any real film editing since like the year 2000 on adobe premier...

If you are on a Mac then you should have iMovie. Not sure about Windows.

Windows has Live Movie Maker. It's free and worth trying before investing in anything else.

Wot he said!

Once you've reached the limits of that software and want to go further you'll know what it is you're looking for and so will be better equipped to choose the next piece of software.

Until then Live Movie Maker does most things you'll likely want.

If you've got the money or where with all to obtain copies, Adobe Premiere and AfterEffects are basically the kippers tits.
