That's stunning Gari
Gulp, I've just seen the price. That seems pretty reasonable if you ask me, hmmmmm

For the last 6 months, I've been deciding on a new carbon cross bike, but you've just thrown a spanner in the works
I saw pictures of this from those custom build shows and lusted after it

Re: The post man's been ...
I was looking at all sorts of things "gravel" for a few months. A feed from one of the blogs I follow appeared regarding something else on Bikeradar I think it was, the next story down was a guy building one of these, and that was that...... it is pretty.
Sorry, but I am gonna need that spanner back at some point

Gari - What do you think of the colour? I nearly pushed the button last year on a WTF but the colour put me off
Love the style and the curves of it though - keep us updated on the build and how it rides. Im most interested

Hi Mart, the colour I was expecting was the greenish colour on his website, the clear coat is what I wanted/got. I think it looks great personally. Basically raw steel with a clear powder coat.
Re: The post man's been ...
If I din't have my Ti Fargo I'd be buying a WTF. Really, really nice bike and cool idea too.

Shiny new CB Cobalt 11 carbon bars in an attempt to try and save my hands from the couple of thousand miles worth of vibration they're about to be exposed to.
Suunto Quest so I can know if I'm in with a shot of getting resupply instead of guessing the time - quicker than getting the phone out and checking/less likely to drop it.
Rydons with photochromatic lenses to do away with carrying extra lenses. Can never have too many pair of these things.

Re: The post man's been ...
My hands took a beating last year. Took around 12 weeks to get my 3rd/4th/5th fingers on each hand to get feeling back in the tips. I thought about the foam grips as per Bens' purchase, but didn't fancy the chance of grabbing a handful of frozen icy grip on a frosty morning at altitude. We'll see how things pan out.s8tannorm wrote:Dear do this TD carry onShiny new CB Cobalt 11 carbon bars in an attempt to try and save my hands from the couple of thousand miles worth of vibration they're about to be exposed to...<snip>
Now, if I could just purchase a new set of knee liagaments/tendons for each side...

As you can't order Cumulus sleeping bags here in the UK unless you buy the own labelled ones top marks go to www.trekking-lite-store.com
I ordered my Quilt 250 off them on after they closed on Friday, they (the Germans) also had a Bank Holiday on Monday so didn't ship my order until Tuesday.
8.30 this morning it arrived. Great service.

It packs down to 2/3rds of the volume of my 350 Cumulus bag and is a lot lighter.

The garage floor test (too windy outside) was great and a revelation as to how much room you have for your arms as I do feel constricted in a zipped up sleeping bag.

My new Salsa Vaya 2 arrived from Charlie yesterday morning. Feels great and is already winterised for British summer conditions. The bad news is I went down pretty hard on the test ride yesterday :( Wind took the front wheel out from under me.

Is there something in ferret food that is good for bikepackers?
And if there is, is it tasty?
