Having raced that section, and the next one. It's a rather big gap. After Fisherfield is where it will get interesting.FLV wrote:... tom isnt far behind josh at this stage. It could all close up in the next sections (and in tesco ullapool).

Tom probably feeling the endless nature of that Ullapool track. Just goes on and on...
Re: Highland Trail 2015
Does Josh have mechanical problems? Time will tell.

Re: Highland Trail 2015
Not sure why you'd think that. Hes approaching the Fisherfield section so progress will be slow for the rest of the day.numplumz wrote:Does Josh have mechanical problems? Time will tell.
The real race is on as the main field hunt down the pie shop in Lochinver before it shuts for the day

Do you know anything we don't, Jack..?
Re: Highland Trail 2015

Looks like both Tom and Steve are at the same point in the route as they were last year
Re: Highland Trail 2015
Tom still looking fresh after refuelling at Tescos in Ullapool. Heading into Fisherfield for the night. Talk of very high winds forcing him to walk on the northern loop! Didn't have that last year.

I must admit I didn't think watching everyones tracker was so interesting! I've been flicking between them and my kids in the Eisteddfordd on S4C!!
Excuse my ignorance but what do the different coloured spots mean?

Blue = Mens raceExcuse my ignorance but what do the different coloured spots mean?
Pink = Ladies race
Yellow = ITT (ie non group start)
If the marker fades it means it hasnt updated for a while.
If you're looking at the 2014 tracker
Green = Finisher
Grey = Scratcher
Re: Highland Trail 2015
I'me surprised I didn't hear him swearing from here to be honest..... shame though. Finished, or finished racing?

Either decided to go touring or following Greg's HTR (Highland Tasting Reconnaissance ....hic.....)summittoppler wrote:I take it the guy on Skye is just doing his own thing?
Re: Highland Trail 2015
I think Ilan was motivated to come over in the first place by the HTR, but has a pretty open plan for his ride.

Re: Highland Trail 2015
I know it well enough from the HT440, I thought a hike a bike section through fisherfield might be a good chance for a tom to try to catch up as hes SS so any speed advantage of the gears is lost for a while.GregMay wrote:Having raced that section, and the next one. Looks like Josh has held it for now though.
Re: Highland Trail 2015
Looks like "our" Steve is having a lie-in in Ullapool. Mike Toyn has whistled straight through and now about to embark on the Inverbroom Push
Re: Highland Trail 2015
Karl (kbrpro from here) is going well, not far behind mr Goldsmith.
Re: Highland Trail 2015
Hello everyone.
I weighed 3 bikes at the start of the HTR550.
Josh Ibbett's setup was a bit over 20kg (44lbs)
Someone who's name I didn't get was a bit over 20kg too.
And Dave Barter's bike was about 17kg (37.5lbs).
It's also been a bit windy out there....

Re: Highland Trail 2015
Surprisingly, no scratches over night.
We will see what happens when people get into signal around Ullapool.

Greg - any chance of another year by year comparison of the leader's current position? Pretty please
