I was on a rental spot last year and have now bought my own, so Trackleaders has never seen it before.

I paid 177 euros and the invoice says Tracker unlimited. It tracked me last night on the 'My Account' page on Spot. marking 19 points over about an hour and a half. It's also now showing as tracked on the HT550 page. I'll check on a dog walk later. Thanks folks.

I've now set up a share page, so Mrs W etc should be able to spy on me (thanks Fraser). I think everything now works/behaves as expected

I contacted Scott at Trackleaders and apparently there was a glitch in the code. It should be updating properly now. I have moved from Poolewe to Swindon so I think it is!
If you find any more issues let me know.

So I'm thinking we won't be bothered by midges this year thanks to sub zero overnight temps on the bankholiday weekend. Normally there'd be a few about my back garden by now and there are bugger all. Plus its not looking too warm between now and the 23rd so little chance of them getting their act together??

I was thinking about the weather tonight too. I'm considering going back to a synthetic sleeping bag as it's only a kilo, but with bivi and possibly a tarp.

I do need to fully test out my charging solution as well, but I'm about to take delivery of a new bag where this will all live so no concerns about waterproofing. Famous last words...

2. Bivvy bag plus 'orrible weather = bad nights sleep? - but I'm a tent using wimp so I'm not one to judge

Looking like northerlies all week (metcheck plus hint from met office month ahead forecast) so will be chilly and a bit unsettled at first, possibly picking up as the week progresses. Also the whole of Scotland is getting deluged next Thursday (allegedly) so plenty wet under wheel. Hey ho its not like were not going to go 'cos its raining are we. Are we??

The river crossing will be more interesting than normal if it's a wet week. I had a report from a rider who was in Fisherfield about a week ago and he couldn't get to Shenavall bothy because the small stream by the cottage at Achneigie was impassable!
I was up in the Highlands last August when the tail end of Hurricane Bertha came through and the main road between Oykell Bridge and Rosehall was flooded. Make no mistake if we get extreme rainfall there will be many places the route will become impassable. Fingers crossed!

I've had a close eye on the weather for events at Keswick Mountain Festival. The forecast for this weekend has significantly changed three times today! Now looking dry and quite sunny, instead of cool and raining. "Uncertain" seems the only certainty.

Unsure on the hours, but theres 2 places to stock up in Contin.
Theres the petrol station (basic stuff) and the shop 30-40 meters further down the road.

After that theres nothing until you get the Oykell Bridge (I may be wrong)
