Re: Todays ride
Cracking ride this morning. Up at 3:45 to shoot some footage of my friend Nicky Spinks breaking her own record for the Bob Graham Round. Ran on to grey knotts and shot some more footage this afternoon plus a absolutely amazing inversion that blew in off the sea towards sunset. One of the most incredible things I've ever seen and happened to have an HD camera and an hour to spare

Re: Todays ride
Ohhhh...so good to be in summer gear again. 50 miles out over the hills to Welshpool and back this afternoon. Even the headwind on the outbound leg couldn't dampen the spirit. Deserves the two thumbs up I reckon.

Lovely road / fire road ride around the New Forest on Saturday. Feels good to be back on the bike again. I think this was the only time I was in front though.

Re: Todays ride
So last weekend I spent with a couple of friends at the Builth Wells MTB Marathon. 40k night ride (tried to go flat out) on Saturday and 70k "Full" Marathon on the Sunday where I 'pootled' round with my friend - but she is elite level MTB so was still relatively quick.... Classic draggy grass stuff, but as windy as fook - which throws out any slight advantage of my power to weight ratio and all about power. Also first time i've pedalled at that intensity in a while - it was all hard work and my legs feel dead this week - but still pedalling to work

Made a little video. First time trying. Wish I'd remembered my gorillapod to get some alternative angles...

Re: Todays ride
First ride of the year (I think), 23 mile loop of local gravel and back country roads. Must have looked close to death as I had a Eagle or Vulture following me round.

Rather a long recce ride in the Dales. Had to call International Rescue who turned up St Bernard like with a bottle of beer

Re: Todays ride
On a last minute 4 day getaway at the moment.
Aviemore to Find horn yesterday, camped in the woods overlooking the beach. Great sunset, sleeping bag not so great, think my summer bag needs replaced!
Today was along the Moray coast route NCR1,
Lovely route, for the most part, strong headwind all day, currently sat in a hostel in Cullen, with a bottle of honey, beer as I type this. Good times
Portsoy tomorrow for ice cream, then maybe a dash home if it looks to be a cold night

35 km on Saturday night after work, then home to a curry. Sunday was a 8km trail run with the wifey and home to a curry. Today, no sport, so no curry
Did spend two hours painting after work though

80km on the road bike, was going for a metric century (so not really a century anyway) but my feet went numb from the cold, so bailed early

Last Sunday was my turn to lead my local forum's monthly ride out.
we had wall to wall sunshine from start to finish and the views were immense.
Here's a video of the ride

Re: Todays ride
On Monday I had a great explore of the vast Llanberis quarry. Starting from the top I wormed my way down all the levels checking out the remnants of days gone by. Very atmospheric!!

You've got some interesting footage there (and music...), and there's a lot you can do with what you have to change pace and flow in time with the music. For example, you could have had the lyric "what you looking at" coincide with the selfie shots, and/or scenes of a certain type could be speeded up a bit, like riding along the platform or through tunnels.
It's all practice and time though, but a great start.

Years - possibly decades - since I've been up there. Nice atmospheric like film brought back memories.
Re: Todays ride
Great vid. You ever been exploring around "Dorothea" near Nantlle? If you like quarries like Vivian in Llanberis Dorothea is incredible. I used to go diving there a lot, but never got chance to do much "surface" exploring. FYI, it's just as incredible below the water, but that's tricky on a bike.summittoppler wrote:On Monday I had a great explore of the vast Llanberis quarry. Re: Todays ride

so a local ride from home to Cannock chase and back , mostly on lanes and bridleways.
manage to clock up 75 miles , one over the bar moment and a sausage sandwich
