Shame it's not colder. 10 deg. colder where I'm going (just hoping for jealousy).
Tons of fun to all. Looking forward to read some accounts and see some pics

I'm with Ian at LHR T3 Gate 3a, the MBUK lads are on the same flight. Next stop Helsinki!

Where are you off to Alpinum?
Saturday night's forecast is looking like fog (and this also means no northern lights)

Reindeer Burrito for me, Ian doesn't deserve afters as he didn't finish his cactus...
Joel has come all this way to find Catalonian food on the Menu!

Cactus is completely overrated as a vegetable

And yet, you all do look chuffed. Peyote?Ian wrote:Cactus is completely overrated as a vegetable

I remember flying with a former Aeroflot machine from Kiruna - lass wasn't too happy about it... that plane must have been running on vodka.
Simon, I'm off to the Engadin on Friday. First bivy planned between Spinas and Bever. Easy going there. Every now and then a restaurant...
What is beef to us, is reindeer to them up North. Mmmhhh... lovely...
Tons of fun and best wishes to Lapland.
Depending on where the forecast comes from there are some chances for you to see the Aurora. Fingers crossed.

Iceland a month ago. Clouds sort of quickly cleared and then the show started...

Comedy moment ad I put my foot down to stop and sunk in up to my waist. Topped only by Ian doing the same but with his arm!

Re: Rovaniemi 150
WOW. What an amazing place!
Brilliant first ride up the river to the Porohovi checkpoint, then a bit of exploration into the woods west of the main river. Landscape is quite dramatic, and even though it isn't actually that cold, there is a distinct feeling of being in a hostile environment that could show it's teeth and catch you out if you were unawares...
Still, much fun was had our ride: https://www.strava.com/activities/257032074

Re: Rovaniemi 150

Tell Nigel if he's practicing for an MBUK cover shoot he needs to pull a slightly funnier face ... although he looks like he's got the odd riding style / bizzare positioning thing sorted

May the bridges you burn light your way

All was going well and I was trying not to do a 'look at me' and then the front wheel went into a rut.

Re: Rovaniemi 150
vaguely exciting pics, nice to see one of Joel as well. Ian and his petrol bomb got through ok then;-)

Re: Rovaniemi 150
Even the most decent of riding styles are f###ed once the snow is a bit soft. Got to love itjohnnystorm wrote:All was going well and I was trying not to do a 'look at me' and then the front wheel went into a rut.

What where you riding on? Scooter tracks or winter hiking/bc-skiing track, mix of all?
Keep it up lads and good going for tomorrow.

Ian's having second thoughts, he's not sure he's up to the task ahead of him....
No, not the riding, that's easy. This monster however...

Re: Rovaniemi 150
If prizes were awarded for Pizza consumption, Nigel would be first, hands down. He managed 3 pieces of that thing - two feet across it was!
Re: Rovaniemi 150
Gian - they seemed mostly to be scooter tracks - saw a couple of dozen easily. Saw a couple of XC skiers on the river only.
Re: Rovaniemi 150
Cheers Ian. Thanks to all of you for sharing. I bet some of you'll come home with a kuksa. Looks like you tried to fight the pizzilla with wooden cutlery...?
