Nice write up.

I'm not a fan of the purple / blue though.

Thanks Richpips, you're not the first person to say that about the colours and I've been thinking about a revamp so it's going to get a colour change

nice trip but wye dale sounds like the drop into chee dale, did you cross the disused railway line above the bike hire/tea shop, then hard uphill rough slog, i did it the other way round and the switch backs were my first hike a bike section,
fitness is a key element but you have to plan for the weakest member, just give yourselves more time to enjoy the experience and the fantastic views,
it's not that I can and others can't, it's that I will and others won't.

Yeah that sounds like it paramart, I'd been that way before but we were both running on empty when we did it and it could of 6,000 m up the side of a mountain for the way we felt at the time ! Like you say fitness is key to really enjoying it. We both knew it was going to be hard because we hadn't done much riding in the run up but we were determined to do a good bikepack before winter set in and I'd had the route planned for awhile so we went for it. We were stiff & sore for a few days after but we can't wait to get out again but we will be working on our fitness though.

When you said purple and blue I thought you meant the clothing. Until I went to look at your blog.

Really like reading cycling blogs but found the colours too hard to read that it distracted from your content, shame as you have put a lot of effort into writing.

Had to give up after a while as it made my eyes go a bit fumny .

Thanks Zonc we will be using the route as the basis for a few trips into the peaks this year hopefully. I think it would work well reversed as its mostly flat on the Macc canal and the NCN route 55 and I think you're legs would appreciate it after a few hard days in the Peaks. We have fell asleep whilst watching Reveal the Path a few times now on bikepacking trips , great film
