GoPro copies .. how have they been?
I know a few folk on here acquired those gopro copies from amazon before Christmas, so just wondering how they've been performing on your trips? (I've read the thread on STW so just looking for fellow bikepacker thoughts?)
Cheers

Not used mine for bikepacking yet but had good results from the handful of times I've had a play with it.
~£35 is a bargain.

Same as Taylor. Took it out a few times and used it in the pool on holiday. Is brill for the money.Taylor wrote:Not used mine for bikepacking yet but had good results from the handful of times I've had a play with it.

go and search youtube, there's a lot of side by side comparisons of the same scene being shot.

Thanks folks. . Zippy, I'll check that out.
Re: GoPro copies .. how have they been?
I have just bought an SJ4000 £35 and so far so good.
As yet haven't taken it out on the bike, but have plenty of fittings etc to use it everywhere. Looking forward to trying it under water.
I'm looking for a free video editing software so that I can start to do something with the videos. Any recommendations? I'm not looking for anything to sophisticated, just the ability to speed up and slow down film and add credits and music.

I use iMovie with reasonable success, depends if you've got a Mac though I suppose.
Re: GoPro copies .. how have they been?
No I'm on a PC although I have iMovie on my phone.
Re: GoPro copies .. how have they been?
I got one for xmas and like everyone says fantastic value for money.
I've only got a shonky laptop so struggle to edit at full quality but I use Microsoft Movie Maker, its free and you can do all the usual stuff such as video & sound editing, add credits & comments and accompanying soundtracks.
I was just wondering what mounts people prefer to use? On a rigid bike it's a bit bumpy on the bars so I was thinking about a chest mount or something else... any recommendations?
cheers

Happy with mine although not used it to make any Oscar awarded films just test ones and photos.
Just ordered 2 spare batteries off ebay for a tenner as the stock one only lasts an hour of photos when testing

Re: GoPro copies .. how have they been?
I used mine for the first time last night with mixed results. I got the cheap accessories kit as well and this vid was filmed using the chest harness.
Position is not quite right but the quality seems OK given the complete lack of light. A lot more work is needed to get some decent vids done, but this gives a flavour

Forgot to mention. Battery life was dreadful in the cold (it was sub-zero on that ride) I got less than an hour out of one and that was turning the camera off between takes.
