Depends how many days you do it over. I did the outer loop over 3 days with an afternoon start on day 1 and a lunchtime finish on day 3.

Day 1 I found a spot in the estate just after Tomintoul and day 2 in the woods on the left hand side out of Blair Atholl, near the river.

I started the loop in Aviemore btw.

The outer loop is relatively easy. If I were to do it again, I'd carry minimal food as there's food in Tomintoul, Braemar, Blair Atholl and Aviemore. Really nice route though, saw hardly anyone out there.

Looking unlikely I'll be an official starter on the day, still hoping to ride the loop around then but will ask Steve to take my name off to keep places open.

Myself and some mates are doing the outer loop on the 16th May - anyone know what kind of night time temps we should expect? Just trying to figure out which bag to take.

cheers

Ask again nearer the time. It could be sub-zero, it could be 12-13c
