I've heard it said a few times that bikepacking/bivvying is a something you do as part of a mid-life crisis. For me it's something I've always done, I see it as a pretty normal part of riding.
So, how old is everyone? ... perhaps there might be some truth in the theory
30 but you would never guess, for me its not a mid life crisis its resuming my love for the out doors and enjoying life after a few year off well about 15 years off lol
I admit to being 56 and on the heavy side. I am a longstanding mountain biker looking to get involved in bivvying, but my usual riding friends are not much impressed. I live between Bolton and Blackburn, and have some time off work coming up in september, including the last week. i am open to suggestions.
FOM you haven't got the 10th/11th of Sep free have you? If you fancy a run down to the green hills of Wales there'll be a 2 day, 80 odd mile trip starting from Rhayader ... can't guarantee good weather but I can guarantee good company
I shall need to check the BWFC fixture list, as I am a sad season ticket holder, but I am interested if available. I shall get the diary from work and look at availabilty.
I'm 36, have always ridden bikes and just see bikepacking/bivvying as a way to ride very long distances even quicker. When I start wanting to lay on the beach and not ride my bike then I know the crisis has started!
