Listen out for the explosion at tea-time on Saturday......and pray your farm isn't within the blast radius. It'll be like Threads, but with more bivi-bags.s8tannorm wrote:Oooh lovely ... it looks like it has all the makings of a bombCheapo stove arrives!

Nice Teva's...love my Teva river shoes.
A bunch of Hammer products turned up today to keep me alive on the weekend...doing a little bit of nutrition experimentation with 'em. Alas, my wife missed the cutoff point to get Lois (my TD bike) over the pond in time for the jaunt. Will be eagerly awaiting the postie next week for her to arrive.

Let's see if I can do some winter trips with two layers...
300 g puffy smock, but feels thicker than Rab's Xenon. It'll need to be cold...
Re: The post man's been ...
A UK Hammocks quilt just in time for the BBFF.

summer or winter weight?dlovett wrote:A UK Hammocks quilt just in time for the BBFF.
Re: The post man's been ...
Autumn !!
Summer plus 100g overfill as I tend to sleep hot. I'll bring a space blanket incase it's not warm enough, but after a long chat with Matt at UK Hammocks it should be ok. If it's not then they will add some more down for me at a later date.

Im trying out 2 layers this weekend: buffalo top and compresssion layerAlpinum wrote:Let's see if I can do some winter trips with two layers
The Buffalo top works better the colder it is so could be a bit warm with the forecast.
Depends on how much chill the wind contributes

Fingers crossed it should be ok. I'm using it with a MultiMate Superlite Air and will be in a very warm tent unless there is horrid weather then it might well be a bothie. I've go nice cotton thermals and a elite down jackets to wear so i think I'll actually be too warm if anything.

Just be aware that the superlite air has no insulation (R value of less than 1), so using it with a quilt might be pushing things ... luckily the forecast looks warmish, so you'll probably be fine.I'm using it with a MultiMate Superlite Air

Some Mary Bars, a torque wrench so frankly embarrassing shades and a water bottle with free zero tabs (or zero with free water bottle)

I've just got one of those stupidly cheap fake Go-Pro's (£36 delivered from China
)
Don't expect any grand Ian/Dave style films but I'm going to do my best. If you see an idiot holding it upside down or back to front this weekend try not to laugh too much!

Garmin cadence sensor. (for training geek mode
)
Was pairing it with the head unit when my wife asked what the beeping was, at this point she pulled out a Garmin cadence sensor (same model) she'd bought for her bike!

I've been SS curious for a while now. But after seeing a few on the winter bivy trip I've decided to take the plunge this winter.
