Winter Wonderland ... with snowy tussocks.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Smashing trip to Nant Rhys and the first taste of 'proper' Winter.

Image

A big climb deserves a big descent

Image

Nant Rhys to ourselves, a fire, dry socks and talking bollox ... what better way to spend the night.

Image

Things turned proper wintery first thing after we left the bothy ...

Image

... but the sun came out after a late breakfast in Llanidloes

Image

It wouldn't be a proper ride without some pushing and carrying up a real mid-Wales bridleway. Back at BB Towers by 4.00pm with frozen toes, numb fingers and big smiles ... although the last few tarmac miles were pretty 'iffy' due to the ice.

Like I say, a great weekend with great company - life is good

Hopefully someone else took much better pics than mine.
May the bridges you burn light your way

Excellent pictures, the grain on the pictures adds more atmosphere to the images :-bd

Cheers for the weekend folks...that was a good 'un...even my little adventure on the icy climb didn't dampen the spirits (did make me skittish on the corners though).

More frozen tussock yomps!

Hopefully folks can see these images...a couple of panoramas from the Sunday session.

After a late brekky/early lunch, we climbed up to see this view (sans bad stitching)...

A little further up the track on the edge of Hafren, we were given this vista to gaze upon...

Had a great trip :-bd
A couple of sections were 'interesting' trying to find the bothy on my own at night with just a map & a compass, was a great relief when i found the tyre tracks in the snow
Good to meet some other members for the first time too.

Some pics-

Would't have been a proper Bear Bones route without a bog march

Some fantastic photies there Mike, really good :-bd

I'm no expert, but If you select the image size first then just copy & paste each pictures bb code onto your post that should work. You can also delete the last section of the bb code with flicker/user id bit up to the last [url] so just the pic is shown. Have a play around with just one picture until you're happy then repeat for the others.
