Can you guess what it is yet?
Anyone care to guess what this'll be / do when it's finished?

A lightweight still for distilling your own whisky from fermented pine cones and badger piss whilst on bivvy trips?

Re: Can you guess what it is yet?
Well some pretty good guesses there and a few not far off. It's actually a secondry water heater for a side burn meths stove. Bladder / bottle on the one side and hot water on the other. You can still cook on the stove as normal and brew up with the water from the heater ... with no increase in the amount of fuel required.
A quick test this morning reveals that the principle works very well, the water from the coil is at boiling point when it comes out. This is obviously a lash up / prototype, the next one will be an integral part of the stove which should make the thing more stable and compact.

It's got to be more stable than your White box stove?

Reckon you could make one work pretty well with a White Box stove.

Re: Can you guess what it is yet?
It looks a rather impractical design for packing, and makes me question why not just use a more efficient stove?
Re: Can you guess what it is yet?
I can't see why you say it's not efficient?
Cooking on a pan on top whilst simultainiously heating extra water for a brew using no/very little extra fuel.
What's not to like?
