I've got a 100mm rim, a 4" tyre but no tube, will a 2.7" DH tube be okay? I'm sure it works but how well does it work?
Before anyone asks ... there's not a chance of it sealing tubeless.

I've used 1.9-2.25 schwalbe ultralight tubes in 3" tyres no problems

I use Maxxis 2.7" tubes in my tyres (or I did, before I went tubeless). They were fine in a 4" tyre.

Stu, I use a Schwalbe SV13F FR tube in my 80mm rims with a 4" tyre. Box says 26 x 2.1 - 26 x 3".
They seem fine but were prone to thorns until I put some Stans in there. Been fine since.

I use Specialized tubes. I think they're 2.5-3.0". TBH, it's so long since I had to replace one I've sort of forgotten.
