I've got a Vee tyre Mission coming today, same price as the Floater ... no idea whether they're any good but for less than thirty quid it's worth a punt.

The only bad thing about it is self steering.

On soft snow they don't track very well and on hard surface serious self steering. Especially running fat bike typical low pressures.
Not too bad on the back though.

Vee Mission up front and On One Floater rear cold be a winner for low budget.

But I can't tell you anything about the rubber compound on dirt.

I just fitted a pair to my bike. Tbh, I've found them good. Did a right mix of riding at the weekend, grass, woods, mud, rocks, sand, shingle. All good. Not really noticed a self steering problem, but I'm running the front tubeless so perhaps that makes s difference?

I was a bit underwhelmed by the missions. I got them for my ride round the cairngorms loop and found them to self steer like mad below 10psi. they were also pretty crap grip wise and by the end of the ride canvas was showing through the side wall on both tires thanks to caringorms granite. OK on the beach and dry trails but the On one floater is a far more capable tyre (built on the same carcass) albeit its a bit on the heavy side

One of my Floaters was under 1400g, which for the money I thought was very reasonable.

The self steering is on the On One Fatty frames not on normal Fat Bikes fitted to the Floater tyres.

The tyres are fantastic as long at you don't ride regularly on Tarmac or a beaches where they drag or dig in too much, but they are perfect on everything from Sand dunes to trail centres to mountain passes.

Just got a Maxxis Mammoth on my half fat, it's a cracking tyre but twice the price

That's handy to know, my latest 'project' may require the use of forks with less offset ... which might help cure that particular trait.

Its when you run really low pressures and the side of the tyre doesn't hold up, meaning it "self-steers" or pulls in the direction it deflects. Ive only ever ridden Floater tyres as they came on my Fatty and cant say Ive noticed it, though I rarely run below 15psi.

Trust me, it's also the tyre. I don't have an One-On frame, nor fork.

The self steering issue is especially to be noticed at low pressures.
Low means 0.25 - 0.5 bar (3.6 - 7.3 psi). I don't ride trails, only snow.

Selfsteering won't kill you, it's just a bit risky riding with no hands - something we all like to do bike packing - no?
