All depends on your skill level
I reckon the SB8's will work well for the majority of the terrain especially as the going is still very dry under tyre and that doesn't look to be changing too quickly (yet!) - they might be a bit interesting if you go over Conich Hill and in Glen Ample but that's only two small bits of the route.
Have sent out a group email this morning just to check if anyone has dropped out.
If you haven't got it can you send me a pm here or to the email address on the Shand website
Loads !!
The northern loop will only take you 6-7 hours anyway and there's: Tesco's in Callander, Mhor Hotel for breakfast, the wee shop in Strathyre and a cafe at the Forrest lodges before you get back to the co-op in Aberfoyle and if you're still hungry you could divert into Callander again before you cross the Menteith Hills to Aberfoyle.
Adam you're most welcome, more than happy to do a bit of organising to show off the local scenery - hope everyone else enjoyed it.
Glad you had a good time - what did you ride in the end and where did you bivvy ?
I also meant to say thanks to everyone that managed to make it up for this. I had a great time and hope you all did too.
I'd appreciate comments on the course, a couple of folks thought the Northern Loop was a bit easy so I think Alasdair Mc will sort that out for next year
As far as I know the only people who rode the entire course were Dave Barter (who's much faster than he looks in his videos - be warned !!), Raju Sangra and myself.
Now looking forward to the BB200 with some miles in my legs....
It was an ace event, top top marks to Bryan for organising it and everyone else for just being fab.
The northern loop worked for me as I was in a bit of a rush to get home the NCN section on the West was not exactly gnarl to the max. This was made up for after Aberfoyle on the way back to Milngavie, my drive train decided that shifting more than three sprockets up the back cassette was forbidden. So I had to sexto-speed it back to the car. As for the "fast" comment, I spent much of the ride desperately hanging onto Jame's rear wheel ;-)

I only suggested that I know a good river crossing nearby, and quite a horrible push - it's a good excuse for a recce ride if anyone fancies a day trip up that way?
Thanks to Bryan for organising it. I'm a bit annoyed I couldn't stick around for the full course but I felt pretty rubbish on Sunday morning and breaking off at Callander made sense.
