Perfect, thank you Sir!

Any good pubs in Brecon? Might be passing there around lunchtime...

Two best beer gardens in town are Brecon Castle Hotel and The Clarence. If wet and muddy, head to the latter as you're more likely to get served. If you are in any doubt over your appearance, you will have no problem at the Boars Head. All will probably permit you to wheel your bike round into the garden bit so you can have it in view.

Apologise for bringing the thread back up. I will be setting off for a couple of days tomorrow following one or two of the routes posted on thread (Sennybridge heading south). I know it's very close, but thought I'd enquire if anybody has any experience of Brynamman heading north ish towards Usk Reservoir. I have an OL12 explorer map, but there's not a lot on it like there is further east.

I've not ridden any of the bridle ways over the Black Mountain. If you do, let us know what they're like ;)

Or, head to Coelbren and pick up, Sarn Helen. Unofficially, the track over the top to Crai between Fan Fraith and Fan Gihirych is fine to use. Link through to Glasfynydd Forest by lanes and bridleways, then on to Usk Res. You can get out of the top edge of the forest onto the Roman Road, then drop down to Halfway Forest and follow largely traffic free off road trails northwards into Mid Wales proper.
