Just joined and new to bikepacking

Post by Tank »

Hi All,

I just wanted to say hello, I have been reading some thread over the past few weeks after a friend RE8ELD0G posted a thread on another forum we are member of saying how welcoming you lot have been.

I myself am 33 years old with a 4 year old lad who has just taken his stabilisers off and a baby due in 17 days. I used to ride a lot in my younger years and recently I have been aiming to lose weight (I started at 28stone and now down to 25 stone) I am only just getting back into the saddle after selling my bike when I left for uni and after uni came the car, however I purchase a mates old bike after he upgraded to a new bike.

My main hobby for the past 5 years has been bushcrafting, I love getting out into the woods practicing skills so i have done a lot of nights out camping and very comfortable with my kit, so I plan to rekindle the old days of out on the bike and mix it with the enjoyment of camping which is why this site and forums looks like a perfect match.

So i am sure there will be a learning curve about how to get my kit on a bike and then there will be the long journey to shed the weight and put some miles on the tyres.

I am sure I am going to have questions as I go along, so thanks in advance.
