Giving my Wild Oasis it's first outing this weekend, albeit at a somewhat lower altitude in Thetford forest. ; )

I bivvied at the top of snowdon one new years....that didn't end particularly brilliantly! Should be better in the sun!

Me too, we pitched next to the cafe, but didn't get a wink of sleep because of bloody 3 peakers finishing in the dark shining their torches at us and shouting to each other "LOOK THERE'S PEOPLE SLEEPING DOWN THERE"

About 1/4 of a mile from the top to the right there is a flat patch over to the right where we should have camped out of the way.

I'm on the Lake District support some folk from our club on Bob Graham round. Have done the snowdon bivy before though. A great day and night!

We found a really flat spot next to a mini cutting halfway between the summit and the col. Guess its around SH 608 546 - it's obvious if you follow the track down from the summit a short distance. T'is far enough from the path to not be disturbed by the PPPers.

Not sure how familiar you are with Llanberis but can recommend Petes eats for breakfast - is basically compulsory!

Have just remembered that I rode it all on my Sworks hard tail which had rigid forks on. I invested in some bouncy ones the week after!

This was ermm 2011/12 I think. Were you in a yellow tent? (Black diamond one I think) and it was pissing down with rain. There were 3 of us on bivvy bags huddling in a doorway of the cafe, we all got wet through! We saw you and envied the tent if that was you! There was another group that came up, they had champagne at midnight then buggered odd back down the mountain.

P.s. yetiman. I've ridden up llanberis. It was just about all rideable, but took a lot of energy, was on my full bouncer (trek fuel ex 26" wheels, 120 sus). Rode back via telegraphs, that was Lairy! Didn't quite have the bottle to launch myself over stuff, rideable if you have massive balls!

Not me. not then. I was in a bivi bag under a tarp tied against the building and it only drizzled the night we were there.
