Aluminium cooking mug - where from?!

Post by booktownman »

Hello bikepackers, my first post to this forum and I'm going to sound like a proper numpty.

Can anyone point me in the direction of an aluminium cooking mug, half a litre volume or thereabouts, that will fit on a tin can meths stove? I can find plenty of Ti mugs, but I'm more interested in keeping cost down than weight. Any guidance much appreciated - all I've found so far are the Army issue, kidney-shaped ones.

Thanks in advance,

Ask Stuart himself, he had ally cooking mugs at the start of the WRT, I'm not sure of the volume size though

Do a google search, quite a few pop up! http://bit.ly/1jcGnzr

Primus Alutech 0.6L pot works quite well:

There's nothing really suitable in that Google search - Decathlon one is nearly there, but small volume.

The primus one - at 20 Euros I might as well buy a my Ti from Alpkit.

this one is super cheap and very light, i have one but think capacity may be a bit low at about 350ml. It works well with the bear bones ultralight meths stove so expect it would be fine with a can stove as well.

Might not be what your after as it doesn't have a handle but I use a 1 litre trangia pan cut down to about 700ml.
