Cool. I wonder how variable the riding characteristics are from frame to frame due to the natural variations in the bamboo. Looks to be similar principles to a plastic (carbon) bike with the resin and then the bamboo as the tensile strength element rather than the carbon fibres.
How much does it weigh?

It weighs...erm, a fair bit.
Will weigh it at some point. I picked some quite big bits of bamboo which I hope mean it will be stronger.

So I put the headset cups in and weighed it.
3.5kg!!
Hopefully as single speed the full bike won't be stupidly heavy.

I have a new found respect for these bamboo bike riders
Lettuce snow what the rides like, I'd be interested in how it performs.
EDIT: Cor, those calfeedesign bamboo frames look neat. Suspect it would take me more than 40 hours to design and build on of them...
