Sat 5th Fat Bike beach bivi ride

Post by JohnClimber »

Have you got a Fat Bike?

3 or 4 Fat Bike riders are thinking of a Newborough (Anglesey) bivi next Saturday 5th APRIL!!!!!!!!!!...........

Starting at around 2pm finishing around 10am on Sunday, no record mileage but plenty of sand dune and beach riding plus whisky or beers around a fire in the evening.

fingers crossed I'm in

always wanted to do a beach bivi, couple of questions if anyone has a bit of experience...

I'm just getting the hang of taking minimal water and utilizing my water filter, obviously this won't work with sea water. Is it just a question of taking all your water with you?

Depending on conditions I'll normally choose between bivi bag, tarp or tent. Do you approach beach bivi's any differently?

I assume a tent peg won't go into sand? Any quick tips?

Anything else much different from an "in-land" over nighter?

cheers
Wait for me...

If anyone is unsure of the area then here is a blatant plug from when I was there in October
