Today though I found it's limit. Previously the biggest item it carried was my massive and square face 3M air powered respirator. The industrial version. Rating wise, I would give the Spinelock a 10/10.
But, today was the day it met its match. I did take a spare collapsing (the excellent) Osprey backpack. The Spinelock would have almost takent the item, but it was just about 2cm to wide.
What item I hear you ask. Well, a massive, but almost low profile, round Philips LED ceiling light. 50cm in diameter and round. Had it not been round and oval, the Spinelock would have handled it nicely. So in the end the packaging went in the backpack and the carboard got crunched down and went in the Spinelock (well, other way round I meant).
Just thought there may be interested parties who may have followed the Bearbones Carbon Neutral Deliveries thread. Most of that stuff has been transported in the Spinelock.

To make the case for the Spinelock even further and just to appreciate how much of an elephant it is. The light inside the box wouldn't go in the backpack either. The light on its own, just about fit without stressing the zippers.
For reference the Osprey is about 18L and fully floppy in all directions - we'll, almost as it is designed as a flat pack.
