Scotland bound and mt keen
Hi all. Has anyone rode south to north over mount keen? There are two paths on the map , one goes up and over the summit another round the west side? Thanks for any advice

Yeah rode over it a few years ago.
The track over the summit is not entirely rideable but the one to the west is, at least it is at that point over the plateau.
I went up to the summit but left the bike about a third of the way up the summit track and walked the top bit.
Worst part of the whole track was the steep bit up from the south alongside the Ladder Burn, very loose large rocks most of the way up so had to walk a lot of it. Once up past the hairpin, it becomes rideable again.
The descent on the north side has some sketchy bits too.

I'd agree that the trail over the flanks of my keen is a lot nicer than the summit path. Well bouldery on the descent! Lots of good trails in the area too
