Yes. As you know I’m indeed in Tony. Might even start a day earlier to ensure I’m back home by the Monday. Or else there’ll be fireworks at home (maybe).
Bit of novo/tent. But what’s a DIGS? You starting at Barlborough?

Digs = shared facilities, i.e. B&B or hostel. Often you'll hear "student digs" in reference to their accommodation.

Nah. It’s via one of those other registration pages John. Let me see if I can find a link. I’m not on Facebook either so been emailing Chris for any queries.

This https://share.sender.net/campaigns/9DxT ... 25-is-open
Then this https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... form?pli=1
I’ll send you Chris Ellison’s email if that helps as it seems it is FB type updates this year. I’ve been getting by and it’s been fine.

Without really planning to I rode the last and then the first off-road sections of the Dales Divide today. Nice day for it!

probably starting at Aldwark Bridge just after Boroughbridge. You starting at Barlborough?
no car to use, and i can get the train to Cattal from Leeds direct, which is only 3 miles to my start point.

This makes most sense to me too Tony. Keep me posted of your plans closer to the time as I might join you there.

Yeah - ill be there, fingers crossed for sunshine!
Re: Dales Divide anyone ?
Work and other commitments put this years DD to bed late last year, so no point entering this years. After the first attempt ending in failure at a measly 95k, cold, wet, wrong kit, ran out of enthusiasm to continue. Hopefully next year.
Re: Dales Divide anyone ?
Anyone got this year's route yet?
I think email went out yesterday. I am on the list but looks like I can't come in....

That was a bit....mehhhh
Some great riding in beautiful places. Some incredibly boring and underwhelming stretches, in possibly the best conditions ever seen (which makes me wonder how the route would look like in early March after a wet spell).
I'd definitely recommend the event as a challenge/race and for the comradery at the start/finish.
It's a tough one to ride though. I was glad I was on my Cutthroat (despite my fork locking after 100km). I would not recommend it on a gravel bike, at least not if chasing a fast time.
Well done to Angus for another victory and to BearBoner Alex B for a stellar ride and 3rd place (while smashing the previous FKT!).

‘Tis a bit of an odd one in places innit? but makes for an ace ‘C2C2C’ strava map, which it wouldn’t without the dull bits. I found it just fine on my gravel bike btw, but as with most ‘northern gravel’, over a route there’s little in it between going with that or a hardtail mtb. Tyre choice seems more important than the bike.
Re: Dales Divide anyone ?
There were more full-suss bikes than gravel bikes in the top 20.
I was definitely over-tyred, but personally I think I'd have been slower on a gravel bike.

I've just watched this vid
https://youtu.be/pecs1qf1p4w?si=RT1Nv6njnRTT8_TE
Looks like hard work to me, perhaps if I was in my early 20s instead of my late 50s!
Great viewing though.
Cheers,
Keith

Thanks, I reckon it looks like an interesting route, I could probably manage it over about a week!Hyppy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 1:15 pmThanks for sharing that one. Nicely edited.Tractionman wrote: ↑Sun Apr 27, 2025 12:04 pm I've just watched this vid
