Other than trying to stay sane, I appear to have inadvertently picked up vintage audio as a new special interest. Just accidentality won some Kef Reference 105.1 speakers on eBay, so once the divorce has happened, I'll be turning the current living room into a vinyl listening room. Don't suppose anyone's got a spare Quad 405, or 909 power amp kicking around that I could have...?

Not just vintage audio it would seem... Won another eBay auction for a Q Acoustics 3010i based 5.1 speakers system. About £1k of gear for £205, shame I had to drive half way across the country, and back, to pick it up. Maybe second hand speakers can be a new side hustle. If I could only turn the focus from speaker to amplifiers now, that would be really useful.

I bought a Cambridge Audio A1 Special Edition for £30 and a set of Wharfdale Diamonds for £32 on ebay. My perfect small room system for under £70

the second to last sentence I put together was on a Telegram group of bikers. Talking about gravel tyres and mtb. It went like this, and was referring to a Bearbones Tyre thread I started yesterday...

@dhuaib worth taking a look at these. At least 4 of these respondents are extreme cyclists.

It's down the back of the sofa. Always amazed by what I find there. Could be anything.

On the Bike:

- Continue the BAM series.
- The Pictish Trail (although I may miss out the northernmost section and just ride south from Inverness to Edinburgh) or might ride south to north.
- Staying with friends in Girona for 7 - 10 days at the beginning of May and they're going to show me round their favourite gravel trails.
- Frontier 300 two-day coast to coast event at the beginning of June.
- Another trip to France in late June. Like last year, will take the train from Edinburgh to the South coast, a ferry and then a mostly off-road ride down to my sister’s place in Carcassonne (different route to last year's trip, though). The Tour de France arrives there on 15th July and I aim to be there.
- Dunoon Dirt Dash at the end of September.

Off the Bike:

- Continue my daily French language studies. Didn't miss a day last year and it keeps the brain ticking over.
- Yesterday marked a full year without drinking alcohol. I'm feeling much better for it in so many ways and intend to stick to this lifestyle.
- Get myself back into weight training and core work because I let that slip last year. Those heavily-laden bikes ain’t gonna lift themselves over gates and stiles!
- Doom scroll less and read more books… I hope!

My main target is the Colorado Trail, toured over 12 days Denver to Durango (hopefully)
Would also like to do the Pictish Trail, outside of midge/NC500 season.

1 - Attempting to get in at least 200Kms a month on the bike after a few years of not riding enough due to juggling werk. Last years little bursts here and there were magic and saved me from going postal on more than one occasion.
2 - Attempting to talk to people more....apparently I speak another language now...but you get that from talking to machines all day long.
3 - Working on talking my little brother into another overseas jaunt....I was talking WRT....he is talking Queenstown. We shall see.
