Stiff Little Fingers, last date of the tour, Camden Roundhouse just now. But first we had to put up with this lot:

Generic, couldn't tell the numbers apart. Apart from a Johnny Thunders cover which wasn't bad.

Luckily things perked up dramatically with the main men!

Closely followed tonight by, of course, the Sex Pistols Experience yet again. Craufurd Arms, Wolverton. Roped four unsuspecting pals in, and a whale of a time was had by all

No future, no future for YOU!

They do indeed. After I've popped over your way in June for The Ramonas, you could do a 'exchange visit' to the Crauf  .

The Verve - Voyager 1. A live bootleg but not a bootleg release from the early days. Gravity Grave in the earphones ATM sounded pretty big!

Off to see these in Brum soon, so preparing my ears for the inevitable loss of hearing.

Any idea of the bpm of those songs? They never let up.

Not too sure to be honest, I never take much notice of BPM, it's more the "feel" of speed I like.

Aye, I've had to install a spoiler on my zimmer frame so I don't become airborne at gigs now.

So... currently listening to some Macc Lads because unbelievably they're touring again and I've managed to book some tickets. Well, I say "touring"... two dates is hardly a "tour" is it? Stoke on Trent Underground on 1st November (already sold out!) and London 229 on 21st November (booked). looking forward to it with a modicum of trepidation.

Shortly booking tickets for the Sex Pissed Dolls in Chesterfield on November 1st - not far from you MacInBlack  .

Earlier on was listening to Never Mind The Bollocks LP, obtained at some not inconsiderable expense. Amazing. I look upon it in a similar vein as going to a medieval re-enactment event or something like that. It's a window into the general atmosphere in 1976. At first listening a complete racket of course, but persevere and the playing is quite something. Rotten's lyrics are of their time too of course, he was certainly pretty annoyed about things  .

Trouble? Me? Absolutely no idea what you mean.....

Given that it's at Hallowe'en again I imagine Nancy Doll will be wearing the same outfit. Gulp.

Cindy Lee - Diamond Jubilee..man, what an LP! A big sixties, heart-tugging, surfing guitar vibe but with so much other influences. Vinyl is a triple LP and so much to listen to.

Cindy is guy who when he plays live, does so in drag. Listening to his songs just seems to give an extra dimension to the supreme court ruling in the UK. No real comment on the reasoning behind the ruling other than it reinforces the loneliness they must often feel.

This LP begs for a warm, sunny day, throw the windows open and play it loud. Beautiful.

Popped into town this evening on the Brommie... Mad Mods & Englishmen (*)... at the Crooked Crow Bar... tiny place.... astoundingly a freebie... well, the price of a couple of pints anyway... for a so-called covers band they were excellent... lots of jumpin' going on.... proper Marshalls.... proper Rickenbackers (fabulous guitars).... The Kids (us) Are, indeed, Alright..... You Really Got Me....

(*) ho ho, Mad Mods... I like it! No? OK, well next month we'll be having The Beaulocks... as in, Never Mind. Oh, never mind.. please yerselves...

Highway to hell , one of husband's (soon to be ex husband's, as we've started the divorce process) top choices for his funeral songs...
Call it morbid, or just a good idea as he really has not been well lately and for a few days it looked a bit dodge..., or call it quite good fun, I've been doing it regularly for many years, picking songs to be played at my funeral...

Guns n roses knocking on heaven's door is there as well, as well as my favourite choice, Free Bird, because he's certainly a free spirit, aka awkward bugger who most definitely won't change...

Votes please on Highway to Hell?? Bearing in mind this would be at a kind of wake in a pub, not in church or anything... :o
Brilliant, or just that little bit bad taste?? Which actually thinking about it, would be very apt...

Anyway, what does one play at an ex husband's funeral?? It's not exactly going to be uncomplicated feelings is it??

Just rambling here, to delay getting out of bed for a few more minutes....

As you were...

How bad taste or black humour do you want to go? Perhaps chose a band named after one of the popular life exit strategies?

The Strokes?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pT68F ... m9rZXM%3D

The Cardiacs?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s31eL ... mRpYWNz

The Fall? ( too late to Eat Yerself Fitter?) (can't stand the band meself, I once actually walked out of a gig!)

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yFCOt6 ... jO8%3D

The Stranglers (a rather more externally inflicted departure - unless rope/chair were self-deployed of course)

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QTIh ... w%3D%3D

Well you did ask and it is Friday. Now not sure if it's Cheery or not!

Or just take it a step further with a popular ditty by The Cranberries....

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Until about 20 mins ago, techno on the turbo trainer. 8 weeks into a get-fit-again plan and it seems to be going well enough :-bd
Well enough that maybe I can stop using the darn thing soon
