I only just caught up on these. If or when I feel the need to replace my current grvl bike, that Roadfinder/Pathfinder is on the list.

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
I've the OneUp equivalent, picked up used for way less than RRP, and it's good in you can grab it and know you've got everything you need for a ride kinda way. I keep the WTB Rocket plug things in the storage container rather than their own bacon strips.fatbikephil wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 9:27 pm Not that new but I've just come across this:

I think this is a newly released model by Brompton, three speed under £1K (so now bike to work friendly

New mat from Alpkit. Big, wide, not stupid heavy, R-value claimed to be 7.2! (ASTM F3340-22 apparently.)

Has this been done yet? Schwalbe Click Valve

A step forwards or another unnecessary option? I like the look of it, wonder when it will be available this side of the pond. And at what price.

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
I think it's a great idea but it needs more wider adoption. Certainly more robust and easier to use than prestas, although schraeder remains my default for wide rims

SJS have prices up (reasonable for the conversion kits) but no ETA:psling wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 3:12 pm Has this been done yet? Schwalbe Click Valve

A must have for every Bearboner and bike packer:

And no, it's not 'that' date yet. I had to check too.

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
I've an IQ timer app on my Garmin Edge that will beep every X minutes to remind me to drink (or eat). I do have the bad habit of thinking "I'll drink when I get to ..." and then either getting distracted or resetting the drink point. It appears as a data field on one of the screens. Costs nowt!

On we go with more trail side toy fun from PB:
https://www.pinkbike.com/news/onlymotio ... n-kit.html
Reminds me of using a Hasselblad 5XX series with their 907 backs.
Why would you if you can get a X2D 100C?

I bloody hated those dropped seatstays when they appeared but I've been won over. Would quite happily have a Super X or a Topstone.

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
https://aeroe.com/products/spider-front-rack

Apart from the heavy load on the front making it hard for the bike to stand up using the handlebar when leaned against a wall, and it's tendency to swing back on you when you stop due to the weight on the front, there is nothing wrong with these new Aeroe front spider racks that I can find.
The weight is carried on the stanchions and not above the suspension, so i feel that it doesn't effect the loaded up handling.
9/10 from me

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
Theoretically, it'll make your suspension work/handle worse, as you're adding to the unsprung weight.
Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
and it looks poor show.
also, why bolt things to a bike not designed to have things bolted to ?

This was the cheaper option than a tailfin, so it will do for me

Re: New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...
Adds unsprung weight, never a good thing on something with very little sprung weight to start with. Better off to ditch the suspension fork if you are going to carry gear on your forks. It looks hideous as well! Flex stems are available
