Rival Consoles - new to me having heard them on the radio recently. Made a note, and have just bought the track 'Gaivotas', and the album 'Now Is'. Really impressed.

I’m not divulging what I listened to, but Spotify said it was over 41,000 minutes

That’s down on last year…

the Kneecap ‘documentary’
Great film and saw them live based on; it was brilliant.
The LP can be had in coloured vinyl as the tricolour.

Just been listening to the TV theme tune of Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased). A classic from that very short late 1960's early 1970's era of top drawer telly programmes (the ones I used to watch while lying on my tum on the living room carpet while 'doing' my homework).

I could get very carried away on the theme of, er, themes 😆 so do shut me up. The Persuaders, The Saint, The Prisoner, The Avengers, The Baron... Department S!... Captain Pugwash!! Honestly, an unrepeatable golden era.

In an effort to stop myself listening to all of them now, here's one to get the gentlemen's blood pressure skyrocketing... Rentaghost (I think the only other theme than Randall/Hopkirk to use a harpsichord?), sung by.... hang on... surely not.... it must be AI, of course it is... arg, noooo-o-o-o, helllpppppp!!!!!!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wT46janS2yE

I'll be playing this on continuous loop all day. Sigh. :X :YMHUG: :YMDAYDREAM: :X :YMHUG: :YMDAYDREAM:

In a way, the scariest thing about that is how convincing it is....
Gawd knows what else could be made up. Makes more than ever want to keep a very low profile in the world we now live in!

Goodness knows what some of these AI programs would make of This Place. Probably blow a fuse.

I recently got into podcasts...

Streets Ahead - featuring Ned Boulting, and can't vering all aspects of making our towns and cities more compatible with walking and cycling
War on Cars - US based, but the hosts have a very good knowledge of the cities and transit systems under discussion

Both have a very good vibe about them, but are very informative

All the original DJ's in the original venue playing all the Tunes from '85 - '97 so much dancing to Sisters of Mercy, Killing Joke, Ministry, PWEI, Nitzer Ebb, New Model Army etc ....
Shame the beer was only bottled lager , 330ml for £6 which is £10.32 a pint.
I drank water.
Still had a great night.
Wow - blast from the past. I left Coventry 32 years ago, but these little memories keep on trickling in to my mind.

:-bd D&T, Rose & Crown, Silver Sword (upstairs only), Campbell, Golden Cross, Windmill... Dive if you were more rock biased...
John Cocaine flies over from LA to do these nights
Surprisingly good turn outs, though I think that'll be the last one in the D&T venue as they just can't do beer. They're rubbish.

Last night at Concorde 2 in Brighton. The Sex Pistols Experience supported by The Ramonas. Cracking fun, loads of ribald audience partici-pation and uncanny resemblances to the real thing. Right at the front hanging on to the barrier for dear life due to my zimmer frame being confiscated on the way in.

Hey ho let's go!

What am I listening now ……
Sitting in my van on a quiet Derby back street and some bell end nob in an Audi has just pulled up in front of me with his dance music blaring. Can’t hear myself think. Had to close the window now :-W

I swear when the sun comes out, people put their windows down and crank the music to a volume that they would never ever listen to!

In my corner of Derby, hopefully not damaging Mart’s ears or sensibilities, I have been listening to a chunk of Ren Gill. ‘Hi Ren’ was played on BbC Newsnight some 16 months ago but I got more into his stuff after visiting the Freckled Angels restaurant in Menai town. Freckled Angels is also the name of his 2016 album with some cracking tracks including ’1990’s’.

The other day I was clearing up after our tea and a track I had never heard before by Calvin Harris called ’Acceptable in the 1980’s’ came on. I laughed, in Ren’s ‘1990’s’ track there is a line ’screw Calvin Harris, I was born in the 90’s, 90’s’ I had previously never recognised the reference.
Yeah, so screw Calvin Harris, I was born in the 50’s.

The track ‘Dominoes’ is another strong track.

The response to that is to put on some Napalm death, or possibly Queen, at an even louder volume
