Winter #Jennride Write Up
I was asked to do a write up of the Jennride for WillCycle.com a predominantly road-based touring and bikepacking website, so it looks to act as a bit of an explainer of the event as well as a ride report. I've republished it on my own blog here, with a few extra photos: https://cycling.hypertelia.com/winter-jennride-2025

I read that earlier this afternoon with difficulty. The write up was just fine but I was supposed to attend but got ill a couple of weeks earlier and missed it. Tried to cycle today and nearly lost it twice in 5 minutes so longer rest required.

Easy now! Sorry to hear you're still struggling. We'll keep the trails warm for you until you're back.Blackhound wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 7:12 pm I read that earlier this afternoon with difficulty. Very nice report and easy/short to read. Pity I missed it but I know I’d just have been too soft for the winter version. Blew Tarn, took me hours traversing a section of route past that a few years ago (it looks up at Hellvelyn doesn’t it!).
Hopefully be there for the summer version!

There's several Blea Tarns in the Lakes Shaf, the one the route went past is the one between Great and Little Langdale.

Nah. Blea Yarn is the road climb out of the end of Great Langdale, a nice warm up before Fucknose and Whyknott going east to west.redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 11:42 am Blew Tarn, took me hours traversing a section of route past that a few years ago (it looks up at Hellvelyn doesn’t it!).

Aha. I see, then they have nothing on my Blea Tarn. I actually think it was a footpath or not even that maybe, pretending to be a BW on OS maps!whitestone wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 1:03 pm There's several Blea Tarns in the Lakes Shaf, the one the route went past is the one between Great and Little Langdale.
