TradeInn and all the Inn's

Post by Valerio »

Don't buy from them.

I've been tempted by the low prices before and was lucky a couple of times (even though they always delivered late).

This time I wasn't as lucky and my Schwalbes have been stuck at customs for 7weeks.
TradeInn is telling me to wait and be patient.
They are not willing to give me a refund and are not providing timescales for when my case will be closed.

All of this to save myself a tenner.

Bank is refusing to use chargeback because the items are at customs in the deliver country(???). Not sure where to go from here but I guess I lost £90.
I won't buy from them again and definitely remember to only use my credit card in the future.

I am sure they used to be ........co.uk
Which I thought should be illegal as it was coming from Germany.

That is why I used them. Then tracking said they were at customs! But item arrived on time and was a good price. So no complaints except the misleading .co.uk

There are a few Euro firms with .co.uk websites - Alpinetrek being one as well as various tyre suppliers. Annoyingly, not all of them offer the full VAT/Duty/customs deal so you need to read the delivery details everytime.

I've had a couple of things from Trade.inn with no issue but most stuff isn't really that much cheaper than you can get in the UK. Oddly, I've never had any hassles with stuff coming from Etsi or Aliexpress from China!

I've used them quite a few times without issue. Using them kinda reminds me of when we used to buy CDs from the channel islands to save a few quid. I'm sure it's somehow bad from an unnecessary 'delivery miles' perspective, mind.

Avoid personally
" Bought " a garmin gpx and after 5 ish weeks admitted they did not have it in stock (think i got credit card involved ) and " refunded " / bank reclaimed.
They contunued to list the item for sale on their website even after i mailed them about it .
Just not worth the risk .

They're not German, their HQ is in Celra near Girona. For balance I've recently bought a Triathlon wetsuit which arrived in 4 days with 35% off.

This week I took delivery of a service kit for my RockShox fork that wants available for months here in the UK.
It was great service and quick delivery for me from them.

Thanks for this reminder Valerie. Yes, I too was getting complacent using the Inns sites and it’s only a matter of time before I have debit card issues. Much rather use the transparent sites like Mantel (well, they no longer deliver t the UK). Thanks again and hopefully John, you keep getting excellent services when needed.

I had ok service from them before and like you John sometimes I used them for items simply unavailable in the UK.

Just a reminder that when things don't go well - which can easily happen when Customs are involved - they will be completely useless, unhelpful, and will keep your money.
