Morning All. Newbie to the forum, just starting bikepacking and getting gear together. I usually car camp and bike out from there, usual tent to big and heavy phad x3. I've got a wildcountry zephros 1 which they say is 1.6kg but I'm weighing in about 1.4 with lightweight pegs and ground sheet ( Xmas prezzie ). I see the usual names Agnes, hillberg ect never heard of durston and just wondered what people's thoughts of the wildcountry ones are. Cheers.
Those Zephyros tents are very good. It is a tried and tested design.
You will not got wrong with one of them :)
Best thing is to get out there and camp rather than focus too much on the kit.
A few days already planned. Got a few gravel events first. I'd done some homework before suggesting what the kids got me for Xmas. I'd not really heard of WC only TerraNova. To be fair I've got most stuff i need from car camping and backpacking.
Zephros 1 is a great tent... I bought mine from here years ago, and it's my go to for scout leader use, or hiking/riding in bad weather. Very quick to put up, enough space for one + kit and very weatherproof.

Terra Nova and Wild Country are one and the same - well at least as far as the tents go. I think the original designs came from Ben Winteringham's Wintergear venture which was taken over by Wild Country who that point were mainly climbing hardware.

Used plenty of Force 10's while in Scouts / Venture Scouts etc. I remember a heavyweight bright orange inner tent, held up with double A poles and a centre ridge pole, then a green fly over the top. Wasn't aware they came in different MK's... An ultralight option would've make wandering around Arran on our Queen's Scout "expedition" slightly less heavy!

You could use it with the standard A frame at the front or a single pole for weight savings (on you too as you needed to be a skelf of a 14 year old to wriggle past it!)
