The routes takes you around or past the sixteen main lakes, meres or waters in the Lake District, hence the name District 16. Starting and finishing from The Royal Barn home of Kirkby Lonsdale brewery and coffee roasters in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale.

If I weren't using my hols for HT500 this year, I'd likely have stayed closer to home and given this a go in July.
