A very soggy 23km from Haverfordwest to Sorva - the coastal path in horizontal rain was an interesting experience though fortunately the wind was blowing from the sea. I definitely found the limit of my waterproofs so not one bit of me was dry by the end

Did a 17km loop out to St David’s and then back on the coastal path. You can’t even see the cathedral until you’re in town because it’s nestled into a hillside.

Another 18km from Solva down to Broadhaven along the coastal path. We’ve been walking either on or parallel to NCN 4 for most of the day so it’d be interesting to come back here on the bike.

Given it's an absolutely glorious day I thought I'd take the dog up his first proper hill - Penyghent. He absolutely loved it :-bd Went over to Plover Hill which I'd never visited before, most of the boggy bits were still frozen so quite easy. https://www.strava.com/activities/13370342197 Could see N. Wales from the top, probably the Clwydian Hills but it's not a skyline I see regularly so might have been the Eryri tops as well.

As an added bonus I got two new Veloviewer squares which helps fill in some of the awkward holes in my VV explorer map.

Had a bit of a fright: when I first got to the summit of Penyghent I stopped for a drink and a quick bite to eat. I took my (pretty decent and probably expensive now) Black Diamond gloves off and put them on the wall so that the dog didn't try to chew them then forgot about them! I went out to Plover Hill and back, just over an hour of walking and was about five minutes from getting back to Penyghent before I realised. There was a group of schoolkids sat where I'd been - no-one had noticed my gloves! :-bd Phew!

Beautiful sunny afternoon along Belfast Lough, a three hour leisurely stroll on the coastal path, here's the view looking towards Belfast as the sun set

Since the dog really likes walking it's a good excuse to fill in some of the blank squares in my VeloViewer Explorer map that are next to impossible to ride through (the fat bike might, just might, be usable on some of the ground). I had planned to get the train up to Horton, walk over Ingleborough and Park Fell to Ribblehead and then train back but the Settle-Carlisle was shut due to storm eowyn so secondary plan...

There's a ridge between upper Wharfedale and Littondale with three bridleways across it. Those, plus a previous walk and a little bit of cheeky riding had gained most of the squares but there was one solitary one above Litton so that would have to be today's target. The walk was basically up a steep quad-bike track; bog-trotting alongside a wall; back down one of the aforementioned bridleways.

A pretty keen wind - had my lunch hunkered behind an oddly sited ruin of a hut. Still some snow around especially where it had drifted in the back of the walls, walkable for the dog, intermittently so for myself!

This was a bit of looking to the future VV wise - I've 38 squares of moorland at the NE corner of my max square that will take quite a bit of visiting as there aren't many tracks. Only when I've got those under my belt will today's square come into play.

Well ski actually. A fine day out in the hills on the skinny skis. A bit overcast but fabulous snow :-bd

No snow here just lots of fallen trees out and about, I managed nearly 12 miles yesterday through local paths around Belfast Lough, and another two hours this afternoon in driving rain, my boots leak

Took advantage of the Settle-Carlisle railway: got the train to Horton (there's a new footbridge over the line along with a rerouting of the footpath up Ingleborough to start directly from the station); up Ingleborough then north along the ridge(?) over Simon Fell and Park Fell to Ribblehead then the train back. No piccies as the clag was well down and it was blowing a hoolie.

Picked up another couple of VV squares which means another eight squares on my max cluster, now at 2187
