BB200 2024 - video recap

Post by Valerio »

I didn't plan to record this year's BB200 ride. I have not done much recording/editing lately, and still have lots of leftover footage to edit and develop from this summer.
I find that filming a ride takes - at least for me - quite a lot of effort and distracts from the riding, with more stopping&starting, more faffing, and more mental energy required. Which is difficult, especially at times when energy is already running low.

Nevertheless, I realised I had taken enough videos during this year's BB200 and I liked the ride so much I thought it'd be worthwhile trying to put together a recap and share it.

As usual, feedback and comments would be really appreciated!

Thanks Matthew for sharing some of his videos and photos, and thanks everyone I rode with and chatted to!
And thanks Stuart for putting together a beautiful route! My prayers have been answered

Excellent vid', thanks :-bd. Some very fast riding there
Good tunes, too (especially some of the lyrics at night  ).
The gritty realism of the 2023 film was great, as well  .
15 mins is about the right length.
May you always have tail wind.

Thank you!
Yes parts of it are more enjoyable from the couch than the saddle hahah

Thanks for the feedback Pete!

Tunes were selected a bit at random, the one playing in the car on the way to Wales stuck with me
Last year I made a more conscious effort to film the ride - not sure if it resulted in a better video recap - and there were plenty of WTF moments were I stopped/walked, so plenty of opportunities to film.
There were some beautiful beautiful sections on this year’s route that I didn't film as I was having fun and didn't want to stop.

Good that Valerio. Always surprising how many of the trails I recognise, despite only having done 3 BB's - also recognise George from last year and the YD 200 plus Mathew from the NYM 300 last year!

Thanks Phil!

Seeing some familiar faces at the start was very nice, as well as meeting a few BearBones veterans!

Im usually not very talkative, less so in the morning after BB200, but it's always good to chat with people after. Abig ride and share stories.
For me thats one of the reasons why it's worth signing up to events.
